Americas Past Time

Well if you are remotely a fan of sports you know that today is a big day for baseball. Its opening day! For me all this means is more pointless unexciting highlights (yes, NHL I am talking about you as well)  to be add in between Blake Griffen highlights and NFL labor talks. But as any good America I will attend my fair share games this year and pull for my home team (The Rangers, no one really liked Cliff Lee or the baby ferret that was growing under his bottom lip anyways).

They say baseball is Americas past time, but so is Mcdonalds, Jersey Shore, and Oprah right? I think to continue to call baseball Americas game some people might need to start actually watching it (Pittsburgh Pirates anyone?) When you look at the numbers its easy to see Football (the real football, not the communist version) far exceeds baseball in popularity. Even if you don't look at the numbers, think about it do more people watch the Super Bowl or the World Series Series. (Don't be dumb Yankees Fans).

So I think its a great sport don't get me wrong, its fun to watch and play, but Americas past time? I really don't think so..I think most Americans are a little more interested in what Baby Bieber is up to, rather than how many innings it takes the Phillies to crush the Blue Jays.

If hes a Rangers fan I am so going to Pirate his next CD for sure!

A friend of mine is planning on getting a new computer and one of my very first suggestions to them is to get the preprogrammed software that comes on the computer off their and out the door! and download you a nice new Internet browser.

(similar to when you tell your friend.."that girl you have been dating ever since I met you is great, but there is FAR better out there with a far less annoying laugh..")

Burt and his Bees

I like to make it a point to recommend things to you my readers from time to time. Today I will recommend three great things to you in no particular order.

Burt's Bees Chapstick

I think its dumb to pay 3.50 for a tube of chapstick, I really do, like charlie sheen dumb. But I do it and will continue to till I die. There are just some areas you cant compromise in life and your chapstick should be one of those so Check it Out.

Spartacus: Blood & Sands

This show comes on Starz Network, which I realize many of you may not have but it is also available on Netflix (another awsome product). There are a handful of shows that I recommend to people on a regular basis, Weeds, Entourage, How to Make it in America, True Blood, Eastbound and Down, The West Wing, and now Spartacus. This show is one of Starz first original dramas, and they did it right. It is historically accurate and man is it awesome, its like watching Gladiator on steroids (don't get excited barry). I must warn you this show is for a more adult audience but if you fit in that category Check it Out.

The Chase Freedom Credit Card

I am not in any way endorsing credit cards, only read on if you are a responsible adult who can stay on top of their financial life. If your looking for a credit card this is the one for you! Who's Your Number 1

Well that crazy time of the year has arrived yet again, (no not lil waynes birthday), March Madness! I'm sure by this point you have filled your brackets out and are ready to go for the big day tomorrow..

Today on ESPN's Sports Center they revealed President Obama's bracket (why hes working on his bracket and not the national budget escapes me, but I guess everyone needs a break) The President of the Free World predicts all 4 number 1's to make it to the final four, Ohio St./Duke/Kansas/Pitt, and he has picked Kansas to win it all... You might be saying to your self what does Obama know about basketball, he cant even figure out a way to lower the unemployment numbers..But in 2009 he did correctly pick UNC to win it all and last year he picked Kansas although they lost in the final four..Who knows if hes right or wrong, he has just as good of odds as the rest of us. Those odds by the way of random generating your bracket and being correct are 9.2 quintillion to 1..

 Some NCAA fast facts:

• UCLA has the most titles (11) but hasn't won since 1995
• UCLA's John Wooden has the most wins as a coach (10), followed by Coach K (4)
• In 2014 the Final Four will be held in Jerry World, and will be in Texas 4 of the next 6 years.
• Oregon won the very first NCAA tournament way back in 1939 (46-33) against Ohio St.
• 6 times the championship game has gone in to overtime and once it has gone to triple overtime. (UNC vs Kansas) (54-53)
• 6 times the reigning champion has failed to make the tournament the following year.
•  The deal CBS (Turner Broadcasting) just reached with the NCAA to exclusively broadcast the games is valued at 11-Billion dollars for the next 14 years.

I am not the most art concious person, in all honesty I dont really care about art to much (again i hate photography class every monday) but this guy Banksy is pretty awsome..

My Friend Charlie

You don't have to be Perez Hilton to have heard of this guy this last month, next to the NFL's pending lock out and "Will THA DONALD run for president in 2012" hes been the biggest news..We all know how seemingly screwed up Mr. Sheen and "his family" (NOT Martin and Emilio, I'm referring to the two ex-porn stars he lives with) are now, but lets take a brief look back at a few of the high points of Mr. Sheens now trashed career.

Pros (should have seen this craziness coming)-
1. He is quoted on record stating that he felt like 9-11 was a complete scam and that the collapse of the buildings looked like a controlled demolition. (He even talked to Obama about this!)
2. In Oct. he was removed from his suite at the Plaza Hotel for causing $ 7,000 in damages.
3. Charlie was expelled from High School for poor grades and attendance 2 weeks before graduation.
4. He agreed to be in Scary movie 3 and 4 (this should have been the first sign of his poor decision making, have you seen those movies!)

Cons (seems like a great guy, who loves women a little to much)-
1. Spin City
2. Two and a Half Men (made 1.8 Million an episode) (money is the root of all evil anyone?)
3. Winner of 2 Golden Globes and 3 Emmy's
4. Wall street and Platoon

Well, we know hes nuts, Is it time to put him in with Kate Gosselin and Puala Abdul? Ill give him a few more months..Right now hes more on the level of Larry King and Tiger Woods, Were waiting around to know for sure..

Adele, 21

I'm a big fan of all kinds of music, (no i don't like country, and no i don't consider it music), one of the Cd's (sorda, more of a grouping of itunes tracks) is Adele's new one, 21. She is this great singer from across the pond. 21, is Adele's second full length album and is even better than the first! She is a Grammy winning artist, (so is lady gaga, so that does cheapen it a bit i realize).

I highly recommend checking her out for some nice easy listening..

If you need something a bit more upbeat not to worry my man Wayne (thats what his friends call him, which i like to think we are) is due to drop the highly anticipated The Carter IV  very soon..

We all could use a little culture from time to time.

iPad Dos

Well for all of you that have been living under a rock, today Apple Inc. announced the next generation of their wildly popular ipad line.. The new ones have a longer battery (10hrs), faster processor (1ghz dual core), and come in 2 colors (black and white). All price points are the same as are capacities..

For me personally I don't much care! I have no intention of buying an over sized iphone 4 that cant make phone calls..but what does interest me is the 2.81 $ per share increase in the stock price..please don't die on me Stevey!!

now on to waiting till June for the iphone 15 or 16 I cant remember what number they are on now.

do you think it will have a blu-ray player? I think ill start that web rumor now...
