This post is a post about nothing.. it is a post about a house..well Two house..2483 Garfield Ave and 2490 Garfield Ave..
These are the place I have called home for the last 2 years, they were great houses. (till we moved in)
We had some great bbq's, parties, late nights on the porch, and snow week sleepovers (even with the evil spirits)...I think we will all remember the time we spent there and the memories we made. So here's to you Garfield, it was great but I'm ready to leave your crazy messiness behind!
I tried to post a picture of the houses but GOOGLE earth was not working with me so this is similar to what they looked like..just darker brick

When I get a big boy job...
Well I graduated this May and am looking for a "Real" full time job..The prospect of this is very scary and exciting all at the same time (similar to the fast and the furious franchise, yuk).. One of the great things about a new job is the increase in pay! (and expenses sadly, anyone wanna be my sugar ma'ma)
I have made a small list, all be it some very stupid unnecessary things, that I will buy with my first pay check..Dave Ramsey, who has a lot of great things to say, says "You should reward yourself with a small portion when you have any form of a financial windfall..(Win the lottery, get a promotion, ect) (this again wont happen because I am far to cheap and the prospect of saving my new found wealth has greater appeal)
A few of the things I would buy would be...
1. PS3, I have wanted one of these since the day they came out. I am not a big gamer by any means, but the PS3 has a bluray player, huge hard drive, can stream Netflix, and I could play the occasional Madden game (if we have a season)..Seems like a logical first purchase..Retail: $250
2. Beat By Dr. Dre, This is another one of those things I have wanted since they came to market. You might be saying to your self? "Head phones?" Don't you already have a pair? Yes I do, that's why I haven't purchased these.. But if you have ever listened to music with these headphones you will know what I mean. They look great sound great, they are by far one of the most stylish and best sounding head phones on the market...One Day.. Retail: $199
3. Calvin Klein V-Necks, These are a little unlike the items above, I actually need these..and I will get them..yes, before I get the "Big Boy Job"..This is more of a disclaimer...These are the best undershirts out there, they hold up well and are very soft. Retail:$15 at RossThese are just a few, in reality I will just save more and pay extra car payments...so exciting..but its always great to dream right?

Cindy Jackson
Today's Post is about a world record holder...Cindy Jackson, (as seen below) She is now 55 and yes she looks pretty good for a more mature women (50+), some might even caller her cougar material...(she is dating a 28 year old..yikes)
She should look pretty good, shes spent over $100,000 in plastic surgeries on 52 separate procedures..Did she start having work done after her kindergarten graduation? What is more impressive to me is how the walking barbie doll worked in that many surgeries in the span of 23 years..What percentage of her is even real at this point..Well I think this just goes to show, some people, or in cyborg Cindy's case, can never truly be happy with the way the look.

A Chromebook sounds cool enough to me
I would like to call myself of a lover of tech (similar to Kobe & Young White Women or Arnold & House Keepers)One piece of "New Tech" that has come out just this week is Google's Chromebook..
Heres a quick overview..
These machines are being made by two companies as of right now, Samsung and Acer, they are completely cloud based computer, with no real hard drive to speak of. What does this mean? All of your music, pictures, and videos are stored in the cloud..(The cloud: Over the Internet) The computers have no optical drive to speak of and run mostly through Google Apps.(yes, they have Angry Bird) They run on a dual core Atom processor, and run over wifi and/or 3G.
You might be saying, so why would I want one..Well, they are going to be much cheaper than your traditional laptop, more functional than any tablets and faster than any netbook... They will have over an 8 hour battery life, and will auto update their OS and apps..
All you need is MINT..
If you are like me you have a million accounts, Credit Cards, Savings, Checking, Investment, Retirement..The list goes on an on...(similar to the Law and Order franchise)
Rather than going to numerous web pages to check balances and pay bills, you just need one...
On this website you create an account and through this process you input all your banking/brokerage information..then on its own gathers all the information and updates all your accounts.
You may be saying to your self well, is it safe? Yes, Mint uses a "128-bit SSL encryption–the same security that banks use–and all data is protected and validated by VeriSign and TRUSTe. " (their words not mine)
Over 5 Million people are already using it, check it out today.

Back from the dead...
Well the title might be a bit overstated, but it has been a while. The last week or so (I used to measure everything in how many days till photography, but now im back to a calender again) has been crazy, I closed one chapter of my life (college) and opened another (Unemployment). College was great, I couldn't ask for much more, well maybe a higher GPA and more cowboy cash, but you win some you lose some.
Walking across the stage was odd because it was like walking away from college; this great thing filled with friends and parties, to this unknown where we all scatter into the world. College was a great time in life, and if I could go back and do it again I would! (groundhog day anyone?) but I know there is much more excitement ahead! Examples of this: The new and final season of Entourage... lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV...A new high paying job (maybe)...A Mavericks Championship...A Paris Hilton Free America..Ok now Im starting to dream.
Time to write the seemingly endless amount of thank yous! But its good to have something to be thankful for!

Final Times
Finals week has arrived, all good things come to an end (i.e. the royal wedding/VHS/Elementary School Nap Time). Some schools have "Dead Week," were they have no class and just hangout and "Study", we at Hardin-Simmons don't have such a frivolous thing (or seemingly awesome) we have something a little better (i disagree) Pancake Breakfast with the President!
Ill take the week off and make my own pancakes..
Over the weekend I'm sure you heard about the Dallas Mavericks, beat destroyed embarrassed the Lakers..it was almost sad watching the implosion of a franchise, but it was great watching it all the same...Lamar enjoy the ugly Kardashian and your E! reality show while Dirk moves on to win a Title..
The Mavericks will be moving on to face the Grizzles or OKC, Kobe lets keep our hands off the ladies this off season..

CHIKIN...
Osama is dead, yes. you read that right...his death created a new record for twitter tweets (man that sounds stupid)..it caused a 24% increase in Internet traffic, and helped to millions of Americans get to sleep with less Ambien.
Job well done W.
I have little interest in the blog today, I have one thing on my mind..
Yup. Its Tuesday.

Playoffs and Birth Cerificates
We cant all be right all the time (i.e. my boy Geroge W.), my previous post regarding the playoffs is a little off, it looks like L.A. (not that team that rents the Phil Jacksons arena the one in yellow) is back..The Mavs seem to have their head on straight (we'll see just how straight tonight, man I have grown to hate Brandon Roy) And Memphis, well they are my new favorite team...This is one of the best groupings of playoff basketball I have ever seen...Please go away Spurs..Neal can only get that lucky once.
This week the White House released our dear presidents birth certificate, (I'm about as interested in this as I am Kate Middletons royal wedding) But, I have heard some say that maybe this is to help drum up publicity about the impending elections, or to distract from the economy..But none of these really make sense, I would be much more interested in seeing his iTunes account and Netflix cue..Now that says something about the person you are!

The year of the mavs
The Dallas Mavericks have had a great year, (unlike Charlie Sheen), they finished 3rd in the west and Jason Terry was runner up for six man of the year. But none of that really matters at this point, its playoffs..The Spurs were stunned with a loss to some team with Paul Gasol's brother on it..The Lakers were hit with a CP3 performs of old, and the Mavs well they did something they haven't done in a while, win in the playoffs. (I realize that this all might not matter after tonight's games)
I'm not going to jump to conclusions by any means, but the Mavericks are doing great, the Rangers are winning, and the Cowboys aren't losing (thanks lockout)..is this to good to be true?
I realize I did not include the Dallas Stars in this at all, but by this point the NHL is close to MLS and the World Series of Poker Tour...I mean come on they just signed a 10 year contract with Versus this week to air NHL games on their cable network, clearly the NHL and Kanye West have a little more in common than I thought..They don't care about being taken seriously.
Ill be watching for the "THEOFFICIALNFL" on Twitter any day now

Top 5 of New...
After the wildly successful post of "Top 5 of Old" (by success I mean 5< readers) I thought it was time for the Top 5 television shows that are currently on the air.
5. Nurse Jackie (this is a show about a nurse that has a drug problem, sounds silly but I must say its pretty well done) (Showtime)
4. Entourage (I'm sure you have heard of this, 4 friends in Hollywood livin it up, Jeremy Piven's acting in this show makes it what it is) (HBO)
3. How to make it in America (This is one not a lot of people know about but is so well done. It's about two entrepreneurs in the big apple trying to make it big) (Kid Cudi is great in it as well) (HBO)
2. Weeds (The drug dealing soccer mom, whats more compelling than that! the last few seasons have dropped off a bit but its still a great show as it sputters to its death) (Showtime)
1. True Blood (This shows cliff hanger endings are sooo good, its based off a book series, and the best show of this decade for sure!) (Vampires sound dumb, yes, but in this case they are not) (Sorry Twilight, I'm team Bill) (HBO)
The best of the rest...
Camelot (A great new show from Starz, has great potential so far, its only had 3 episodes at the time of press) (Starz)
The Big C (A great story of a lady dealing with cancer and day to day life) (Showtime)
Spartacus (You know how I feel about this one, its fantastic, and the prequel they just did, man its great!) (Starz)
Eastbound & Down (This one only has a season or two left, but man is it funny) (HBO)

The next list will most likely be movie related, I don't want to beat the television thing to death..

Top 5 of old...
One of the most popular things among the Internet, other than Twitbook and Paris Hilton's TMZ photos, are lists... Top 10 best this, Top 5 worst that... So in honor of the world wide web (and I have no clue what to blog about) here is my list of the Top 5 Television Shows that are no longer on the air.
5. Studio 60 (you might not have heard of this one, it was on for only a year, it was done by the same guy who made the Facebook movie as well as the show in the number one spot) (worth a watch for sure)
4. The Wire
3. Nip/Tuck (Lets just forget about the 4th season ok?) (A disturbingly perfect drama)
2. Friends
1. The West Wing (one of the most well done shows I have ever seen on television, killer actors, best show of all time)
The ones that didn't make the list, mostly due to the fact I have never seen them...But most people love them..
Scrubs
Lost
Seinfeld
The Sopranos
Arrested Development (this one was close, I just haven't watched enough of it to added to the list..)

The Huskie beat out the Bulldog...but why?
This last Monday brought a few things our way in regards to the TV. The Rangers won 4 straight (now 5-0 Red Sox who?), Bravo's new show "Pregnant in Heels" (and I thought Joe Millionaire and The Swan were bad), but what most of you were watching was the conclusion to the greatest tournament in all of sports (no I'm not counting the communist World Cup)...The NCAA March Madness Tournament.
The final score of the game (if you want to even go so far to call it that) was 53-41, Uconn Huskies over the Butler Bulldogs.
This by many, including myself, is considered to be one of the worst National Championships of all time..(other than the great story lines of Uconn winning 11 games straight, 5 in 5 days) or (Butler, the small school of 4,000 making it back to the finals for the second straight year)
I would like to propose a few of my own theories as to why the game was for a lack of a better word, a total suckfest.
Theory 1
The tournament is far too long.. they expanded the field from 64 to 68 teams this year, some people even want it expanded further ( I cant blame them I'm greedy to at times, ok most of the time)..When you expand the field all that does is wear on the players more and more, you cant tell me that the Butler plays weren't dead tired by the final. I would argue that they should contract the tournament and some how make the games an even deal. (you know the greedy thing, Superbowl anyone)
I don't know how much truth there is to this one (there athletes, suck it up) but they are students and maybe Quantity isn't always better than Quality (Cici's vs. Texas De Brazil) (easy choice)
Theory 2
This one I feel has a bit more validity than the first... The game was played at Relient Feild in Houston. This is where the Houston Texans play. (yes you read right the Texans of the NFL) (I'm sure they didn't care there is a lock out they don't really need the field for anything) The court that the players played on had to be built from scratch, and the goals were moved in just for final four weekend. When they set up the court and goals everything is measured to the inch, but if the goals are brand new there surly will not be the give in the rim as usual and they will be far tighter than the players are used to. Most goals have hundreds of thousands of shots over the years, these had merely thousands. This is evidenced by the numerous shots that were in the rim and rimmed right out, I mean come on, Butler shot 18% in the final. You don't make it to the final two years in a row shooting 18%. Sure they might have had a bad night but were there other forces impacting the shooting of the players? (Harry Potter maybe..)

Either way the game is done and Jim Calhoun has 3 rings, I wish nothing but the best for him and Kemba Walker as they walk off into the sunset holding hands...
Guess who's bracket was not correct...
