Bridesmaids...

I would like to think of my self as a movie connoisseur, but there is one thing I do not do very often, and that is actually go to the movies. (Red Box all the way) Last night my lady friend and I went to the movies and saw Bridesmaids, yes, I know it has been out for a while and we are a bit behind the curve...

I actually really liked the movie, it was very vulgar at times, similar to a female version of "Knocked Up" or "The Hangover"...but all in all it was pretty funny! If you are not someone who is easily offended it’s a must see.
One of the best parts of the movie (and what made it worth reviewing and seeing) was every scene with Melissa McCarthy. This chick was hilarious! I looked her up on IMDB when I got home, and she has been in a lot of TV shows (Samantha Who?/Gilmore Girls/Mike & Molly) and a few movies, mostly serious roles (Charlie’s Angels & an uncredited role in Shooter) I really hope we begin to see more of her! (I made this same wish regarding Ashton Kutcher and now really regret it, Two & a Half Men really??)

I recommend this one, if nothing else it’s a new take on a sometimes over used genre. Give it a watch

IMDB Rating: 7.7/10
Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 89/100
The Burroughs Index: 4/5

The Penny Story..

A penny, 1/100th of a U.S. dollar, or as the Brits call them a Pence...This is one of the many things that are a complete waste of time for America. (similar to anything dealing with Sarah Palin)

The cost to America to produce one of the shiny Lincolns is actually more than their worth! ( 1.79 cents according to the U.S. mint in 2010)... So, you ask yourself why are we wasting time and resources producing currency that half of Americans wont even bend down to pick up off the street..Well I think it may be so that Yahoo can post entertaining stories about them!

Today I read a story about a man in Utah (yea I know that should have been my first indication) who paid his $25 dollar medical bill (which he disputed he even owed) in all pennies, yup, 2,500 little Lincolns. After he poured them on the counter and demanded they count them (Should have said PLEASE) they proceeded to call the police and have him arrested. He was arrested and fined $140 dollars for "disorderly conduct"..Maybe he should try to pay this fine in two dollar bills just to be on the safe side..

There are many stories about people paying for things in all pennies..I think ill stick to a credit card, much easier and you get the points!

That's a million dollars in pennies

Shaq wont be back...

As I am sure most of you have heard the big man, The Big Agave, RETIRED. Yes, after 28,596 points (#5 all time) , 1,207 games, 12 All star games, 11 movies, 6 NBA teams, 5 rap albums, 4 championships, and countless reality TV failures.. Love him or hate him, there is no denying this guy was larger than life, I personally haven't watched or played a video game with out him in my short 22 years.

Shaq was drafted by the Magic out of LSU after 3 years, then 4 years later he "Took his talents to L.A." (could another big man from Orland have this in his future??) After picking up a few rings in L.A. with the Colorado Rapist (get it?) he hopped around to Miami, (picked up another)Phoenix, Cleveland, and limped into Boston. That's his career in a nut shell.

There has not been a more polarizing figure in the NBA to my knowledge, I mean, who releases rap albums and stars in a movie Shazammmmm?? (wont be in my top 50 this year) O and he was a great basketball player the whole time!

Here's to you Super Man.

Fun Fact: Shaq shoe size is 23

TIme to move on...

This post is a post about nothing.. it is a post about a house..well Two house..2483 Garfield Ave and 2490 Garfield Ave..

These are the place I have called home for the last 2 years, they were great houses. (till we moved in)
We had some great bbq's, parties, late nights on the porch, and snow week sleepovers (even with the evil spirits)...I think we will all remember the time we spent there and the memories we made. So here's to you Garfield, it was great but I'm ready to leave your crazy messiness behind!

I tried to post a picture of the houses but GOOGLE earth was not working with me so this is similar to what they looked like..just darker brick

When I get a big boy job...

Well I graduated this May and am looking for a "Real" full time job..The prospect of this is very scary and exciting all at the same time (similar to the fast and the furious franchise, yuk).. One of the great things about a new job is the increase in pay! (and expenses sadly, anyone wanna be my sugar ma'ma)

I have made a small list, all be it some very stupid unnecessary things, that I will buy with my first pay check..Dave Ramsey, who has a lot of great things to say, says "You should reward yourself with a small portion when you have any form of a financial windfall..(Win the lottery, get a promotion, ect) (this again wont happen because I am far to cheap and the prospect of saving my new found wealth has greater appeal)

A few of the things I would buy would be...

1. PS3, I have wanted one of these since the day they came out. I am not a big gamer by any means, but the PS3 has a bluray player, huge hard drive, can stream Netflix, and I could play the occasional Madden game (if we have a season)..Seems like a logical first purchase..Retail: $250

2. Beat By Dr. Dre, This is another one of those things I have wanted since they came to market. You might be saying to your self? "Head phones?" Don't you already have a pair? Yes I do, that's why I haven't purchased these.. But if you have ever listened to music with these headphones you will know what I mean. They look great sound great, they are by far one of the most stylish and best sounding head phones on the market...One Day.. Retail: $199

3. Calvin Klein V-Necks, These are a little unlike the items above, I actually need these..and I will get them..yes, before I get the "Big Boy Job"..This is more of a disclaimer...These are the best undershirts out there, they hold up well and are very soft. Retail:$15 at Ross

These are just  a few, in reality I will just save more and pay extra car payments...so exciting..but its always great to dream right?

Cindy Jackson

Today's Post is about a world record holder...Cindy Jackson, (as seen below) She is now 55 and yes she looks pretty good for a more mature women (50+), some might even caller her cougar material...(she is dating a 28 year old..yikes)

She should look pretty good, shes spent over $100,000 in plastic surgeries on 52 separate procedures..Did she start having work done after her kindergarten graduation? What is more impressive to me is how the walking barbie doll worked in that many surgeries in the span of 23 years..What percentage of her is even real at this point..Well I think this just goes to show, some people, or in cyborg Cindy's case, can never truly be happy with the way the look.

A Chromebook sounds cool enough to me

I would like to call myself of a lover of tech (similar to Kobe &  Young White Women or Arnold & House Keepers)

One piece of "New Tech" that has come out just this week is Google's Chromebook..
Heres a quick overview..
These machines are being made by two companies as of right now, Samsung and Acer, they are completely cloud based computer, with no real hard drive to speak of. What does this mean? All of your music, pictures, and videos are stored in the cloud..(The cloud: Over the Internet) The computers have no optical drive to speak of and run mostly through Google Apps.(yes, they have Angry Bird) They run on a dual core Atom processor, and run over wifi and/or 3G.

You might be saying, so why would I want one..Well, they are going to be much cheaper than your traditional laptop, more functional than any tablets and faster than any netbook... They will have over an 8 hour battery life, and will auto update their OS and apps..

They sound pretty dang cool to me, but how many tech toys do we really need, I love Google as much as the next guy, but will this catch on? or are they coming to the party a little late?

All you need is MINT..

If you are like me you have a million accounts, Credit Cards, Savings, Checking, Investment, Retirement..The list goes on an on...(similar to the Law and Order franchise)

Rather than going to numerous web pages to check balances and pay bills, you just need one...

MINT.COM

On this website you create an account and through this process you input all your banking/brokerage information..then on its own gathers all the information and updates all your accounts.

You may be saying to your self well, is it safe? Yes, Mint uses a "128-bit SSL encryption–the same security that banks use–and all data is protected and validated by VeriSign and TRUSTe. " (their words not mine)

Over 5 Million people are already using it, check it out today.

Back from the dead...

Well the title might be a bit overstated, but it has been a while. The last week or so (I used to measure everything in how many days till photography, but now im back to a  calender again) has been crazy, I closed one chapter of my life (college) and opened another (Unemployment). College was great, I couldn't ask for much more, well maybe a higher GPA and more cowboy cash, but you win some you lose some.

Walking across the stage was odd because it was like walking away from college; this great thing filled with friends and parties, to this unknown where we all scatter into the world. College was a great time in life, and if I could go back and do it again I would! (groundhog day anyone?) but I know there is much more excitement ahead! Examples of this: The new and final season of Entourage... lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV...A new high paying job (maybe)...A Mavericks Championship...A Paris Hilton Free America..Ok now Im starting to dream.

Time to write the seemingly endless amount of thank yous! But its good to have something to be thankful for!

Final Times

Finals week has arrived, all good things come to an end (i.e. the royal wedding/VHS/Elementary School Nap Time). Some schools have "Dead Week," were they have no class and just hangout and "Study", we at Hardin-Simmons don't have such a frivolous thing (or seemingly awesome) we have something a little better (i disagree) Pancake Breakfast with the President!

Ill take the week off and make my own pancakes..

Over the weekend I'm sure you heard about the Dallas Mavericks, beat destroyed embarrassed the Lakers..it was almost sad watching the implosion of a franchise, but it was great watching it all the same...Lamar enjoy the ugly Kardashian and your E! reality show while Dirk moves on to win a Title..

The Mavericks will be moving on to face the Grizzles or OKC, Kobe lets keep our hands off the ladies this off season..

Finals are here, time to study.

CHIKIN...

Osama is dead, yes. you read that right...his death created a new record for twitter tweets (man that sounds stupid)..it caused a 24% increase in Internet traffic, and helped to millions of Americans get to sleep with less Ambien.
Job well done W.

I have little interest in the blog today, I have one thing on my mind..

Yup. Its Tuesday.
